Celebrate the spookiest night of the year amongst the skeletons and specimens of the Natural History Museum. Following last year’s sellout event, Halloween at the Museum returns on 31 October and tickets are now available. The adults-only event is the perfect way to explore the Museum’s galleries and exhibitions after hours, as the sun sets and the skeletons cast their shadows beneath the ghostly spectre of Hope the Whale.
A band filling South Kensington’s hallowed halls with live music and a silent disco means you can boogie with the beasts throughout the evening. There’s no need to go chasing after the supernatural in the dark October night – instead chat to our expert scientists as they showcase their spooky specimens from the natural world.
Brand new to the experience this year is also an immersive story element. While none of our bat specimens transform into Count Dracula at night (to our knowledge), you can still get your vampire fix at the Museum this Halloween. Expect characters emerging from the Museum’s crevices, trails to follow and even a vampire ball scene to take part in.
Pickled creatures suspended in jars is an absolute stalwart of horror films. Add on tickets to the behind-the-scenes Tank Room Tour for a peek at our spirit collection. Get up close and personal with the jars and tanks filled with of specimen from across the world preserved in alcohol, including the ghoulish 8-metre-long giant squid affectionately named Archie.
Tickets start from £45, or £40.50 for members, and are available at Halloween at the Museum | Natural History Museum. The event is for ages 18+ only and doors will open at 19:00. Drinks and snacks can be purchased from the onsite bars.
