Time Saving Strategies for Brits attending European Events

0

As one year closes and another begins, it’s a door to invite us in; it’s time to start planning what life will look like for you in 2026. Here in the UK, there are still several long, dark and bone-chillingly cold months to go, followed by what we hope will be the sweet relief of a warm, bright spring and summer. Whether you’re being called upon to leave the delicious comfort of a couch by the fire now, looking ahead to the European summer on a soft sandy beach, or planning for a busy year full of wooing clients and long meetings on the other end of the European continent, you’re probably planning to go places in 2026. Time, whether it’s holiday hours or billable ones, is valuable. With that in mind, we’ve crafted a list of sure-fire ways for you to get the most out of the time you have available when travelling for an event, a getaway or business reasons.

Time-Saving Tips for European Excursions

1. Prepare Things In Advance

This is valuable advice for many situations in life, not just enjoying travel or attending events in different locations. Get all the nitty-gritty admin out of the way well ahead of when you know you need to leave or are travelling to get to your event or experience on time. Where passports and VISAs are required, book your appointments to have your documents in hand at least two weeks before travelling. Check out the weather (is it summer, winter or a shoulder season?) so that you can plan to have all the appropriate and necessary garments and accessories. Look out for luxury accommodation deals on hotels, standalone homes, experiences, and the like; early birds sometimes get their hands on the best specials. Get all of these details out of the way early so that your hands and mind are free to deal with everything else.

2. Book The Best Travel Options

Since the surface area and bodies of water that make up the European continent are “relatively” small by comparison to other parts of the world, you’re not likely to have to endure any 16-hour flights with a hundred layovers each, no matter what kind of flight you book. That said, the type of travel you book for yourself will make a massive difference to the overall experience. Choosing to book private jet travel will make every part of your trip, whether it’s for business or pleasure, so much smoother, more efficient, and luxurious.

The airport experience when you’re flying private is vastly different to that of someone flying on a commercial airline. You may need to use a private or commercial airport facility, but either way, you will have your own boarding gate, a cabin crew just for you, and a private, calm boarding experience.
Your baggage will sustain far less damage and certainly not be lost due to inattentive airline staff. One plane, one passenger or party, and a tiny onboard crew means more individual attention is paid to baggage and far fewer chances of it becoming misplaced.
Connecting flights? We don’t know her! If your destination is far enough away for your aircraft to need refuelling or a pilot change, you won’t even have to disembark while that happens. Everything moves around you, rather than you driving around everything.
Private airlines often have concierge services that can assist with luxury hotel bookings, experiences and, most crucially, transfer services. Have a car waiting at the airport, ready to deliver you safely and comfortably to your terminal destination with minimal fuss.

3. Pack Efficiently

If you’ve planned and done your research, you’ll have all the kinds of outfits, accessories and toiletries that you need for your travels. Now, the temptation is always there, but we’ll say it together: I do not need to overpack! For cold destinations, you need one overcoat and one set of snow boots. For hot destinations, you’ll need a maximum of two hats (one light and one dark) for your different outfits, and two pairs of swimwear. If you’re travelling for business, you don’t need a pair of heels for each outfit, but a maximum of TWO that will match everything you’ve brought. Bring one plug adapter, if required, and a multiplug to attach to it. Don’t you need to wear them each day, or have hundreds of lugs and cables wasting your time? Keep your luggage light and simple.

4. Stay Well

Mental and physical health determine if your trip will be a good one or not. Start a course of immune boosters before you leave and continue it while you travel. Pack your supplements and daily meds in a pill case and take them EVERY day. Remember to leave yourself enough time to rest and process what’s happening around you, so that your mental well-being is taken care of. Don’t hesitate to reach out to a friend or medical professional if you feel you need help.

Europe, Here We Come

With these tips in mind, your European travels from the UK will be flawlessly planned, leaving you all the time you need to work carefully, party hard, or get in some much-needed rest.
