Tonight, David & Georgia Tennant joined forces with Celebrity Chef Tom Kerridge to stage an all-star charity gala evening at Pub in the Park Chiswick, with a host of guest talent in aid of former PM Gordon Brown’s charity,The Multibank.
The event was attended by a line-up of stars from the worlds of music, food and television, including David and Georgia Tennant, Tom Kerridge, Arabella Weir, Claudia Winkleman, Alex Jones, Romesh Ranganthan, Lenny Henry, Stephen Mangan, Gaby Roslin, Simon Rimmer, Dr Ranj Singh, Jose Pizarro, Matt Tebbutt, Mark Wogan, Andrea McLean, Kate Thornton, Ollie Locke, Bonnie Langford and many more. The event was also attended by Multibank founder and former Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
The all-star charity gala was soundtracked to performances from De La Soul, The Feeling, Stereo MCs and a Vernon Kay DJ set.
Multibanks are being established across the UK to fight poverty and maximise recycling of unused goods. A Multibank is much like a food bank, instead offering clothes, toiletries, bedding, baby goods, hygiene items, and furniture – essential things many families simply cannot afford yet desperately need. They often operate alongside existing food banks. Money raised for the charity by Pub in the Park will be used both nationally and to support the newest Multibank in Greenford, west London.
Pub in the Park continues at Chiswick House & Gardens across the weekend, with performances from Busted, Toploader, Scouting for Girls and Jools Holland in store. The festival will also be heading to Reigate from 12-14 July and St Albans from 6-8 September.
