Uber Boat by Thames Clippers has launched a new app, making it even easier for Londoners to plan and track journeys, buy boat tickets and sail along the River Thames.
The new app, which is now live, includes a ‘Where’s My Clipper?’ feature, providing real-time information about a vessel’s location using a green, amber and red traffic light system to show passenger capacity. The feature has been added for a smoother customer experience, allowing passengers to know where their boat is, when they will board and when they will reach their destination.
Passengers can also use the all-new journey planner, making it easier to access and understand service schedules. With the interactive route map and the ‘Plan a journey’ feature, it’s easy to check timetables and find the best pier-to-pier routes.
Customers who download the app to their Apple or Android device can book tickets for journeys across Uber Boat by Thames Clippers’ network. They can purchase single, return, or Hop-on Hop-off tickets quickly using Apple or Google Pay. Carnets and season tickets, available exclusively on the app, offer great savings for Londoners who travel frequently by river.
For experience-seekers, the popular River Guide – launched last year on the Uber Boat by Thames Clippers website – is now available on the app, making it simple for sightseers to plan the ultimate day out using their smartphones.
The River Bus service provider operates from 24 piers across the capital, including North Greenwich (for The O2), Greenwich, London Bridge, Canary Wharf and Westminster, as well as residential areas such as Battersea Power Station and Barking Riverside.
Sean Collins, Co-founder and CEO of Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, believes the new app provides a simple, intuitive user experience for commuters, leisure travellers and tourists.
“We live in a digital world where people expect real-time information at their fingertips. This is especially so for travelling, with passengers keen to keep track of their bus, train or tube. Our new app provides this functionality, giving Londoners and visitors instant access to the latest travel information, letting them make the most of their time on board – whether working, relaxing, or enjoying the view. It’s a calmer, smarter way to move through the city.
“Passengers using our River Bus service can now pinpoint the location of the boat they wish to board with our innovative ‘Where’s my Clipper?’ function. They can also purchase tickets and track their route along the River Thames with our simple, effective and integrated tool.”
