University of Greenwich and Kent Cricket announce new three year community partnership

The community partnership is focused on collaborative work across the Club’s County Ground in Beckenham to make Southeast London an attractive place to live, work and study.

For the University of Greenwich, the partnership will mean students have access to work opportunities with the club and its partners, access to club facilities as well as benefiting from reduced ticket prices to matches. The partnership will also enable collaboration on events such as outreach work across schools and colleges.

For Kent Cricket, the new partnership will provide the University’s academic expertise, research knowledge and leading-edge facilities along with community outreach projects.

The University of Greenwich and Kent Cricket will work in partnership to maximise their expertise and resources to provide students and the local community with opportunities that aim to change lives for the better.

Professor Jane Harrington, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Greenwich, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Kent Cricket as one of our new community partners. The benefits this will provide our students and local community is very welcome. Here at the University of Greenwich we are proud to work collaboratively with local community partners. Working closely together, we can empower individuals to fulfil their ambitions and help to better society.”

Andy Griffiths, Director of Partnerships, Kent Cricket added: “We are really excited about our new new community partnership with the University of Greenwich. Working with an educational institute that shares our values means we can work together to make a real difference to our local community”.
