As the excitement for the Paris Paralympics builds, the Superhero Series powered by Marvel is inviting Everyday Superheroes to take on two unique events:
At Home Superheroes from 15 June to 14 July 2024
Superhero Tri on 17 August 2024 at Dorney Lake, Windsor
Superhero Tri powered by Marvel: A Super-Powered Challenge
Taking place on 17th August at Dorney Lake in Windsor, the Superhero Tri offers three distances to choose from, each with a variety of fun and flexible options. Participants can fly solo and take on all three stages—swim, cycle, and push/run—or share the fun in a team relay. For added support, Superheroes can recruit Sidekick teammates to tow, push, or pull them around the entire course.
Here are the Superhero Tri distances:
Superhero Tri Sprint: Swim 150m, Bike 3km, Push/Run 1km
Superhero Tri Half: Swim 400m, Bike 10km, Push/Run 2.5km
Superhero Tri Full: Swim 750m, Bike 20km, Push/Run 5km
The flexibility of Superhero Tri allows for various adaptive equipment, such as flippers, floats, adaptive bikes, wheelchairs, baby buggies, and more.
At Home Superheroes powered by Marvel: A Month-Long Adventure
At Home Superheroes invites participants to join one of four Marvel-themed SUPER TEAMS, each joined by a Super Partner and a few Everyday Superhero mascots to inspire and encourage the team.
The goal for each team is to accumulate as much distance as possible over four weeks, from 15th June to 14th July, with anything going—from walking, wheeling, and rowing to running, swimming, and Super Sensory challenges. Every kilometre completed by a team member brings their SUPER TEAM closer to the finish line.
Sophia Warner, Paralympian and founder of the Superhero Series, says, “We’re so excited to bring back the Superhero Series for 2024, with even more opportunities for people to come together and be part of something amazing. We believe that everyone living with a disability should have the opportunity to experience and reap the benefits of sport and activity, which is exactly what the Superhero Series is about.”
Join the Superhero Movement
Everyone is welcome to participate, with the only requirement being that solo entrants or at least one team member identify as having a disability, whether physical, intellectual, sensory, or invisible. There’s no need for any specific classifications.
