‘Hiddenware’ exhibition by Robert Cervera at SPACE Gallery in East London hosts a free, live gaming and music performance on 31st January 2026, 4-7 PM
It’s not everyday you see three self professed ‘bedroom’ gamers centre stage, gaming in a fine art exhibition in London accompanied by live musicians. Yet that’s exactly what will be taking place on Saturday 31st January from 4-7 PM at SPACE Ilford – an up and coming arts gallery with a focus on community and co-creation in East London with local gamers Kabilan Thesingarajah, Foyez Uddin and Luis Bull.
“I’ve found it quite nerve-wracking to go from gaming at home to gaming in a gallery setting being watched by a public audience but I’m really glad I did as I’ve had a lot of fun preparing for the upcoming performance and accomplished more than I would have if I hadn’t joined the exhibition.
As someone who doesn’t spend a lot of time in art galleries – I now feel more comfortable going to them and I also feel like I have more opportunities to make friends and socialise now too.” – Kabilan Thesingarajah, gamer.
Kabilan, pictured in the above header image is one of the three gamers taking part in the upcoming performance at SPACE Gallery in Ilford, East London on 31st January 2026.
For his solo exhibition at SPACE Gallery aptly titled ‘Hiddenware’, British artist, Robert Cervera explores and uncovers the hidden elements behind the tech and gaming worlds through a series of installations and performances that he has been working on with local gamers such as Kabilan as well as a handful of professional musicians.
Imagine taking a private gaming session out of a dim-lit bedroom and into the middle of a public art exhibition – with an added live soundtrack produced by an instrument made out of PC liquid cooling tubes played by professional musicians.
The performance combines professional musicians’ reactions to what’s happening on the three gamers’ screens. There will be a large screen displaying the gamer’s journeys with both the gamers and the musicians taking centre stage during the unusual, upcoming live performance.
