Vanguard School Appoints Rachael Clements as Permanent Principal

Vanguard School, a specialist school in Lambeth for autistic young people, is delighted to announce the appointment of Rachael Clements as its permanent principal. The decision follows a highly successful period in which Rachael has served as interim principal, building on her earlier role as deputy principal at the school.

Rachael brings extensive experience in leading specialist provision for autistic pupils and children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Her leadership is rooted in trauma-informed practice, safeguarding, inclusion, and strong partnerships with families and professionals. During her time at Vanguard, she has overseen measurable improvements in pupil attendance, engagement, and wellbeing.

Speaking about her appointment, Rachael Clements said:

She is also committed to strengthening the school’s connection with the wider community and raising the school’s profile as a centre of excellence for autistic education.
