On April 16th St Paul’s Cathedral will welcome radio and TV personality, Reverend Kate Bottley, at a public event to speak about her faith and the power of connecting with others.
Kate first arrived on our screens in 2014, as part of the hit Channel 4 TV show, Gogglebox, and has since gone on to host Good Morning Sunday on BBC Radio 2, as well as being a regular presenter for BBC’s Songs of Praise. Now an established author, at St Paul’s, Kate will talk about what faith means to her and the inspiration behind her new book, ‘Have a Little Faith: Life Lessons on Love, Death and How Lasagne Always Helps’, which explores life’s big questions and how belief can be the ultimate key to happiness.
The Reverend Kate Bottley commented:
“I’ve always felt that food and faith go together. As a priest my role is to offer people nourishment, but you don’t just do that from the pulpit. I’m looking forward to exploring that connection at St Paul’s, and discussing how our beliefs sustain us. To me, belief is a very inclusive term and it’s a privilege to be able to engage with those who don’t necessarily identify with the Church, because these questions affect everyone regardless of their faith.”
The talk will be chaired by St Paul’s Cathedral’s Chancellor, Canon Dr Paula Gooder, and the audience will be able to ask Kate questions on the night.
Canon Dr Paula Gooder commented:
“We are really excited to welcome Kate to the Cathedral to be part of our diverse programme of events. It’s sure to be a wonderful evening, as we explore what Kate’s faith means to her, and what she’s learned about finding meaning and connection.”
Kate’s book, ‘Have a Little Faith: Life Lessons on Love, Death and How Lasagne Always Helps’ is now available in paperback. Kate will sign copies later in the evening.
There are still places available to attend this talk, which is free to attend by signing up online: Have a Little Faith Tickets, Tue 16 Apr 2024 at 18:30 | Eventbrite
The event will also be filmed, and will be made available afterwards on both the St Paul’s online learning library and YouTube channel.
St Paul’s Cathedral host a range of speakers from across literature, academia, the arts and the media, as part of their faith-based learning programme. These events are free to attend, and are open to everyone.
