If you’re a fan of power metal, then you’ll be interested to know that Visions of Atlantis are set to play the O2 Academy Islington for the first time on the 11th of February, 2026. The show is going to be part of the Pirates & Kings Over Europe tour, with the band playing with Warkings in an epic show that will not disappoint.
The Band Takes Heavy Inspiration from the Legend of Atlantis
Visions of Atlantis, a symphonic metal band, takes heavy inspiration from the legend of Atlantis. Their earlier work touches on the myth the most, with the band having recently pivoted into more pirate themes and ocean adventures. Many other bands have taken inspiration from the mythical world of Atlantis too, with another big name being Imperial Age. They cover the theme of Atlantis in depth, showing more than anyone what a gold mine of a theme it can be for creatives, while perfectly mirroring the grandeur of the location with heavy metal symphonic melodies to match.
Atlantis has been a prominent theme outside of music as well. The Ancients is one popular podcast that explores Atlantis, while others touch more upon Plato’s original story, as well as potential real-world locations.
A movie, titled Atlantis the Fallen Empire, was released in 2025. and in iGaming, Atlantean Treasures Mega Moolah has been one of the top jackpot games in recent months. The game takes inspiration from the deep-sea theme, with symbols that reflect the myth of Atlantis and the treasures that it protects.
With Visions of Atlantis taking inspiration from Atlantis during their early days, it would not be surprising to hear them play songs from their first album on this tour, given how it’s a themed co-headliner tour, rather than in support of a specific album. According to recent setlists, this could include Underwater and The Land of the Free. Fans can also expect to hear Armada, which is from their latest release.
Tickets are Now on Sale for the O2 Academy Islington Show
Tickets for the show are currently listed on Ticketmaster for February 11th, 2026. Those who buy a ticket are set to experience an epic concert, with both bands playing the latest material from their new albums, as well as older songs in the spirit of heavy metal. The doors to their show at the O2 Academy Islington open at 6pm, with bands alternating as to who takes to the stage first.
Both Warkings and Visions of Atlantis have the same amount of time each on the stage, with the support band, Induction, having less to accommodate. Warkings and Visions of Atlantis have also released a song together, aptly named Pirates and Kings, to try and support the tour while giving audiences a taste of what they may be in for.
For fans of the genre, tours like this often go down in history, as they feature bands who are currently working their way up the ranks, and playing historic venues like the O2 Academy Islington in one of their biggest shows in the area to date is certainly an achievement.
Clémentine Delauney, singer for Visions of Atlantis, can often be seen sharing her excitement for upcoming shows with the band, which is set to be a sellout.
