The UK’s largest specialist photographic retailer, Wex Photo Video, has officially opened its new 15th store, adding to its physical presence across the country. Located in the heart of Putney, a grand opening event took place on the 6th of December 2023, hosted by award-winning documentary photographer and photojournalist, Martin Parr.

The celebrations began with a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a talk from Martin Parr where he discussed his prolific career spanning over four decades as well as his projects from the last year. Guests were also able to ask Martin questions. Those in attendance were also treated to exclusive in-store discounts on some of the latest gear and in-demand services.

This marks the third Wex store to open this year and the second in London, as the retailer continues to invest in physical stores to appeal to a wider customer base. Located on Upper Richmond Road, customers can find a broad range of equipment accompanied by comprehensive services. As is standard for Wex Photo Video stores, it is staffed by a team of industry experts who will offer impartial buying advice and provide invaluable technical assistance.

Displayed across four hi-tech play tables, the store stocks a wide range of gear from leading brands such as Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic Lumix, Manfrotto and DJI showcasing mirrorless cameras and lenses, camera accessories, studio accessories and harder-to-find categories such as astronomy, optics and audio devices. There is also an enhanced video and audio zone, showcasing an array of brands and products via an interactive display. As well as a customer care area, the new store features a seminar suite for live demonstrations and dedicated events, including seminars, workshops and screenings.

Louis Wahl, Chief Executive Officer at Wex Photo Video, commented: “Adding a new store to our list of locations is always a time to celebrate, and this occasion is no different. To mark our 15th store opening in Putney, we were thrilled to have renowned photographer Martin Parr join the celebrations and welcome enthusiasts and professionals alike. With our extensive range of equipment, as well as helpful support and advice, we hope to inspire new and existing photographers and filmmakers to bring their visions to life.”

Open seven days a week, 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday (opening at 10am on Tuesdays and closing at 8pm on Thursdays), and 10am to 4pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays, the new store in Putney will be in close proximity to the busy High Street and easily accessible using the East Putney Tube Station and Putney Train Station.
