The festive season can be an extremely busy time of year in London, but finding the right things to do can help you enjoy it more. What are some of the Christmas and New Year surprises you might want to know about?

Escape Room Discounts and Other Games

Escape rooms have proved to be a huge success since opening in London and other British cities. This is a clever sort of game where you need to solve puzzles to get out. Joker’s Trap and War on Horizon Alpha are two of the games offered at Breakin’ Escape Rooms. These venues are a popular destination for office Christmas parties, but many also offer special discounts at this time of year to attract new players looking for something different.

Online slots provide a different type of varied gaming experience from escape rooms but with some similarities. These casino games also have a variety of themes and features that take the basic idea and add to it. Slots can be played online at any time, with new titles being added regularly to introduce extra variety. Among the latest titles, we can see festive-tinged games like Wolf It Up Christmas and Reindeer Royale. Paddy’s 1 Million Giveaway at Paddy Power gives slot players free tickets for weekly prize draws where free spins and cash are among the possible prizes. Three of the draws take place in December, with the last one coming on the 3rd of January.

Festive London Giveaways

A look online reveals a huge number of ideas for things to do in the capital during December. Whether you live here or are just visiting, it’s a useful way of choosing from all the many different activities offered here. Christmas is a particularly busy time for the city’s key attractions, with events like the  Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park and Christmas at Kew as well as the many festive light shows dotted across the city.

The 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway 2024 from Visit London details 12 different offers on their Instagram page. They’re revealed one by one across December, with day eight onwards still to be uncovered at the time of writing. Some of the biggest shops and tourist attractions in the city have their own festive promotions you might like to check out too, including Harrods’ Christmas range of products that’s been on display since August.

Free Transport

Festive offers come in different shapes and sizes, with some of them more practical and useful than others. The latest news from London Transit comes into that category, as they recently confirmed that they’ll be offering a free service on New Year’s Eve. This offer is set to start at 8 pm on the 31st of December and continue for the rest of the night, giving revellers a safe and convenient way to get home.

At the same time, the transport provider confirmed that their services are going to be altered on some of the key dates. Christmas Day and Boxing Day will see a reduced frequency, with New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day also having a more limited schedule for passengers to take into account. Transport for London confirmed that some planned works over the festive season will affect the Tube services, with no Christmas Day trains at all.

The range of things to do in London at this time of year can seem overwhelming at first. However, by understanding what the activities include and seeing which are most important to you, it’s possible to give yourself a festive boost.
