- Whilst staying at Dancers Hill House, on 2nd March 1935, Viscount Hugh Trenchard, who was Marshal of the RAF, sent a letter to Sir Percy Grigg, regarding the possibility of an impending war

Located just 14 miles from Central London, the house sits on the land of a former mansion that was built c1500. A yew tree was planted in the front of that house and still remains today over 500 years later! It is rumoured that prior to Queen Elizabeth 1 becoming Queen, she stayed at the house as it is midway between Hatfield House, where she lived and London.
Dancers Hill House, was built in 1760, as a folly! ( a fancy building in a large garden for decoration and amusement! ) It was extended several times
in the early and late 19th century.
