With 100 days to go until Christmas, Covent Garden and Carnaby Street have announced the switch-on dates for their highly anticipated Christmas lights for 2025. These two switch on moments from the world’s most globally recognised and much-loved festive destinations, mark the start of the holiday season in London’s West End, igniting Christmas spirit and celebrations across the capital.
Carnaby Street
Carnaby Street will switch on its captivating Christmas lights on Thursday 6th November, ushering in the festive season at the globally recognised cultural, shopping and dining destination in the heart of Soho. With its independent boutiques and London’s best dining spots dazzling under the glow of the Christmas lights, the iconic streets will be transformed for the season, blending festive tradition with the modern charm of Soho and capturing the true essence of Christmas in London.
Last year, Carnaby Street unveiled a ground-breaking, design-led Christmas lights installation, set to evolve over the next five years. For 2025, Carnaby Street will reveal the next chapter of the state-of-the-art installation, introducing a fresh and enchanting display, that will delight seasonal visitors and Londoners alike. Covent Garden
Covent Garden will switch on its world-famous Christmas lights on Wednesday 12th November, with over 300,000 sparkling lights throughout the neighbourhood, the return of the much-loved gold bells in the Market Building, and the iconic 55ft British-grown Christmas tree. The switch on event will kick off Covent Garden’s 2025 campaign, The Theatre of Christmas. Rooted in the rich traditions of theatre and performance, The Theatre of Christmas will feature a seven-week celebration, inviting visitors to step behind the curtain of Christmas and into an immersive world of festive magic.
Alongside its famous display, Covent Garden is delighted to welcome back Miracle at Henrietta Experimental, returning bigger, brighter, and more fabulous than ever. The sell-out festive favourite doubles in size this year, moving to a new home at 10 Henrietta Street to transform London’s favourite kitsch Christmas cocktail bar into an even more dazzling winter wonderland. Marking the 100-day countdown, bookings open today (Tuesday 16 September).
