Up at The O2 has today announced the return of sky-high yoga to the world-famous roof this May to mark Mental Health Awareness Week. In association with The O2’s official charity YoungMinds, the UK’s leading charity fighting for children and young people’s mental health, Up at The O2 will be hosting yoga classes on the roof as part of four extended climbs across Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 May, with all proceeds being donated to the charity. The classes, taking place from 8:00am and 8:30am on each day, will be expertly hosted by The Body Coach’s yoga instructor, Lucy Sesto – the perfect way to kickstart your weekend and Mental Health Awareness Week, by finding a pocket of peace whilst soaking up panoramic views of London.

Along with a guided climb up and over the roof of the world’s most popular music, leisure and entertainment venue, climbers will also enjoy extended time on the roof with a 20-minute yoga class at the summit, followed by refreshments courtesy of Nestlé. Lucy Sesto is a former Great Britain acrobatic gymnast who has channelled her passion for movement into a career as a yoga teacher. As well as teaching public classes and teaching online via The Body Coach app she also hosts retreats in the UK and abroad. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or new to the practice, Lucy’s classes are designed to challenge and inspire you to be your best self, and her welcoming and supportive atmosphere makes it easy for anyone to start their yoga journey.

With its highest point at 52m above ground level, climbers will enjoy 360° views of Greenwich, Canary Wharf and the Olympic Park, and will be following in the footsteps of over one million other climbers. Tickets are available for £40 per person (the same cost as a standard Daytime weekend climb), and all proceeds from these climbs will be donated to YoungMinds, to help raise vital funds and awareness in support of their work with young people and parents across the UK.

Dan Hurst, Head of Attractions at Up at The O2 said: “We’re so excited to be bringing yoga back to the roof this year in honour of Mental Health Awareness Week. Yoga has undeniable benefits for our mental health, and we’re proud to be donating all proceeds from these climbs to our official venue charity YoungMinds, who do vital work for young people and families all over the country. It’s also great to have Lucy and The Body Coach team onboard to bring their yoga expertise to the roof, providing climbers with the chance to slow down and relax in a totally unique setting.”

Climbs are available for those ages 8+ and are suitable for all fitness levels. Pre-booking is strongly advised, and all climbing and yoga equipment will be provided. For more information and to book your spot, click here.

YoungMinds is leading the movement to make sure every young person gets the mental health support they need, when they need it, no matter what.
