Head down to London College of Communication, UAL in Zone 1’s Elephant & Castle to view the screening of Oscar nominated documentary, ‘Hale County, This Morning, This Evening’, a free screening taking place on 7th February 2019. Filmed over 5 years, and directed by RaMell Ross, the film depicts the contemporary life in the deep South of Hale County, Alabama. The film acts as a political critique, and brings the issues of representation and stereotype images of Black America.
The free screening is one of the poignant events of the ongoing Reel Lives showcase taking place in Elephant and Castle up until the 13th of February. Presented by the Screen School at London College of Communication, Reel Lives events all focus on displaying how people co-exist in modern society as they delve into issues surrounding gender, race, age, religion, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation and disability identity through screenings, workshops, discussions and performances.
All events in the Reel Lives series are free and open to all.
