There’s a new pub coming to Broadgate this October and The Last Exchange is built around a simple idea: do the pub properly.

Opening in Exchange Square, moments from Liverpool Street station, The Last Exchange is a new-generation British pub with old-school standards. Think beautifully executed food, properly made drinks, generous hospitality and a space that feels as good for a quick pint as it does for settling in for the afternoon.

The best ingredients, cooked simply. Your pub favourites, elevated. The Last Exchange takes the familiar foundations of a great British pub and gives them a more refined treatment, using the best British ingredients, thoughtful cooking and no unnecessary fuss. Alongside elevated pub classics, the menu brings a few more distinctive touches, from battered oysters with Exchange tartare to a deep-filled beef shin pie served with mash, greens and gravy, and The Breville – a beef mince toastie served with Lea & Perrins gravy for dipping.

That same approach carries through to the bar, where house pints start from £5, including The City Scribbler, the pub’s own house beer. It’s a simple offer, but one that sums up what The Last Exchange is about: good drinks, properly made, with quality at the heart of it.

The Last Exchange is designed to work beyond the traditional City pub rhythm. Mornings start with coffee on the terrace overlooking Exchange Square, before the pub moves seamlessly into lunch, after-work drinks and dinner, with private dining for groups and a proper roast on Sundays.

While Liverpool Street and Broadgate have long been synonymous with the weekday City crowd, the area is increasingly becoming somewhere to spend time beyond office hours, and The Last Exchange is designed to be part of that shift – whether that’s a post-work pint, a Friday night that turns into dinner, or a long Sunday lunch worth travelling for.

Andrew Garton, CEO at Publican Estate, said: “We’ve always wanted The Last Exchange to feel like the kind of pub you can walk into and immediately feel at home. Somewhere you can come in for a pint, stay for dinner, lose track of time and end up having another one. We’re keeping things simple – properly made British food, good beer, warm hospitality and that old-school feeling that pubs used to do so well.

The Last Exchange opens on Monday 12th October at 11 Exchange Square, Broadgate, London EC2A 2BR, in October 2026.
