Rosie Red Corsetry & Couture is one designer to watch.
Rosie Red Corsetry & Couture launched as a Princes Trust supported business on Valentines Day 2015. Rosie Dennington, the designer behind the brand, has a background in costume design, and a love for beautiful things. She is passionate in spreading the word about self-love and body confidence.
She creates luxury bridal wear for all body types in dreamy fairytale designs.
1. What three traits define you?
Kindness (the world needs more of it), Gumption (a word my grandma used to use), Filthy sense of humour (life’s too short not to laugh.)
2. How is the fashion industry evolving?
I like to think the fashion industry is slowly becoming more diverse. The main philosophy behind my brand is that every body deserves to feel beautiful. I am over the moon to be able to bring some plus bodies to the catwalk! I also like the idea that fashion is slowing down. As a bespoke wear designer, my emphasis is on creating pieces that can be passed down through a family, and treasured as heirlooms.
3. What are the biggest challenges in your career?
I think when you embark on following any dream, so many people doubt you. I really had to stick to my guns, which although often comes naturally to me, can be really challenging! It’s been paramount to be to have an amazing support network. I also found that when friends were affording fancy holidays and beginning to get mortgages, I was (and am!) still putting every penny into growing Rosie Red.
4. What can we expect from you/your brand throughout the rest of 2017?
Ethereal winter wonderland shoots, being part of an incredible hair and make up workshop project, the release of my brand new website (rosieredcorsetry.com), and having my new Wanderlust Collection lookbook and calendar launched! Before all that though I will be celebrating my birthday, and taking a trip to France for a well deserved break!
