7 Activities for a Perfect Weekend in Prague

Looking to spend an off-the-wall weekend in Prague? You’ve come to the right place.

Prague is home to beautiful landmarks, such as Prague Castle and Charles Bridge, which are definitely worth the visit. However, there’s much more to this historic city other than the usual touristic activities — especially if you’re the adventurous type of traveler.

So, check below 7 different, fun things to do in Prague that will make your weekend unforgettable.

Visit a Gun Range

Get a shot of adrenaline at a Prague gun range, where you’ll have a memorable experience shooting legendary guns in a large open-air shooting complex, regardless of whether you have a license or experience firing weapons.

When booking, choose the best-suited package based on your gun experience (drinks, snacks, and hotel pick up and drop off are included). You can count on a team of professional shooting instructors from the Czech police and army to guide you.

Immerse Yourself in Prague’s Creepy Past

Prague’s dark background is fascinating and unique, which is why you must squeeze in a ghost tour and explore the capital’s sinister side. During these tours, you wander around dimly lit streets, castles, cemeteries, and abandoned psychiatric hospitals, and learn about hair-raising legends, ghost stories, and tales of the tortured.

Relax in a Beer Spa

Jumping headfirst in a pool filled with Czech beer sounds fun, but that’s not what goes on in a beer spa. Instead, you soak in hot water infused with beer ingredients, such as malt, herbs, and hops. Studies show that beer ingredients are highly beneficial for your health, especially your skin.

While you’re relaxing in the tub, you’re encouraged to open the tub taps and pour yourself as many beers as you want. Check the signature beer before booking, as each spa has its own brand. Moreover, the rooms are completely private, so feel free to wear your bathing suit or birthday suit.

Check out the Oldest Astronomical Clock in the World

Old Town’s astronomical clock is a 600-year-old clock that tells both the time and the relative positions of the Sun, Moon, Earth, and Zodiac constellations. When the ancient clock strikes the hour, there’s a show featuring animated figures of apostles, a skeleton, a Turk, a miser, a rooster, and Vanity looking in the mirror.

It’s common to find a crowd at the top of every hour. So avoid uncomfortable elbowing by going to a nearby rooftop and enjoy the show from above while having a drink (Hotel U Prince has a great view).

Enjoy the View at Petřín Tower

This Eiffel-inspired tower gives you a fantastic view of Prague, its river Vltava, and several landmarks. You can just skip leg day at the gym if you choose to take the stairs, as there are 299 steps. Sure, you can take the elevator, but don’t you like a challenge?

The view is splendid but not for the faint-hearted, since the 63m tower rests on a 318m hilltop, making it higher than the real Eiffel Tower.

The Petřín Lookout Tower is located on the opposite bank of the Old Town. However, the tram 9 to Petřín and the unique Petřín funicular get you there easily.

Speak out at John Lennon’s Wall

During the Communist era, people spoke out against authority by leaving messages on this wall. Later on, it was named after Lennon to celebrate the freedom and pacifism for which the musician stood.

It has been common practice for years for tourists to leave a political message using spray paint. Recently, spray paint has been banned, but there isn’t yet a ban on chalk and markers, so leave your message on the wall.

Sign up for a Pub Crawl

Take full advantage of the array of pubs and clubs that make Prague’s nightlife amazing with a pub crawl.

These bar-hopping events are set on a plan that allows you to collect great memories at the best places. You get to meet new people, enjoy free entrance and drinks and have a lot of fun with the help of party guides.
