£90K LOTTERY WIN FOR HARROW TRIO

School science technician among winners

Three neighbours in Harrow can’t believe their luck today after discovering they’ve won a cash prize of £30,000 each, all thanks to their postcode.

The trio landed the windfall when HA2 0TP was announced as a winner with People’s Postcode Lottery on Wednesday 22nd July.

Among the winners is 51-year-old Lynn Lane, who works as a science technician in a school.

Lynn found out how much she’d won while she was on her lunch break, with People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Matt Johnson delivering the good news over a video call.

Lynn said: “Oh wow, thank you! I haven’t got any words – just amazing. I’m speechless! I’m really pleased for everyone that has won.

“It might take a while to sink in, I’ve never had that amount of money before. It just means I won’t have to think about things for a while. It’ll just be nice to have a little bit of extra money to do something nice with.”

With three children, Lynn isn’t short of people to help her spend the windfall. She said: “It will help out immensely – my daughter will be going to uni in a couple of years so it’ll help out with that. I think the kids would all like to go back to Disneyland too, so I might take everyone away there. I’m sure they’ll have it all spent for me already!”

The remaining two winners chose to remain anonymous, but the prize will be paid directly into their bank account.

Matt Johnson, the People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador who delivered the good news to Lynn, said: “While we’re not able to knock on doors and deliver golden envelopes in person, it’s still an absolute pleasure to be able to surprise winners like Lynn over Zoom.

“It was lovely to chat and hear her plans for the cash – I hope she was still able to eat her lunch after getting a surprise like that!”

People’s Postcode Lottery costs £10 a month to play and there are guaranteed winners every day. People play with their chosen postcode and are automatically entered into all draws.

This prize was part of People’s Postcode Lottery’s special July campaign where one postcode wins £30,000 per ticket every single day.

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have helped raise more than £500 million to date for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

This draw was promoted on behalf of ActionAid. Players have raised over £8.4 million for the charity, enabling it to work in over 45 countries and help change the lives of the poorest and most disadvantaged women and children in the world.
