Ealing Broadway is partnering with local charity, Calling London, to encourage the community to get involved in its Winter Coat Donation in support of those in need this winter.
To take part in the donation drive, locals will be asked to drop off clean coats that are in a good condition at a dedicated collection box which will be located outside the Ealing Broadway Tesco Express everyday between 19th October and 21st November.
All donations will be sorted and redistributed directly to those in need by Calling London, a charity founded back in 2010 and dedicated to supporting Londoners through the winter.
Calling London is looking for coats of all sizes, from babies to adults, including wool coats, ski jackets, duffle coats and padded jackets. The charity cannot accept thin rainwear, cagoules, fleeces, jumpers, or workwear jackets.
This is the fifth year that Ealing Broadway has run the Winter Coat Donation, with this year’s scheme building on impressive momentum from 2025, when 765 coats were donated to those in need.
Andrew Rollings, centre director at Ealing Broadway, said: “Winter can be a difficult time for many, and we’re determined to do what we can to support those around us that are in need. With the help of our wonderful community and visitors, we’re looking to build on the success of our Winter Coat Donation scheme and hopefully collect even more coats to help keep Londoners warm over the coming months while also making sure any unused jackets lying in wardrobes across London aren’t going to waste.”
Frances Manthos, Co-Founder of Calling London, added: “It’s fantastic to be working with Ealing Broadway once again. We’re incredibly grateful for the centre’s continued support and to its visitors for helping us provide warm coats to Londoners who need them most.”
