A ‘Stop the Brexit nightmare’ rally is being held in Parliament Square this evening.
LibDem London mayoral candidate and party spokesperson on London, Siobhan Benita, is behind the event to celebrate us still being in the EU this Halloween.
She said:
“Like so many people in our capital from all backgrounds, I’ve watched in horror as our Government has attempted to force through Brexit – either via Boris Johnson’s zombie withdrawal agreement or in a terrifying no-deal exit.
It’s not just ‘project fear’ – we know there is no Brexit deal that is good for London and Londoners.
Boris Johnson said again and again that we would be leaving the EU on 31st October no matter what. He said he would rather die in a ditch than ask for a delay. We can’t trust anything he says.
Today London remains a proudly diverse city at the heart of Europe and the European Union.
Join us in Parliament Square tonight at 7pm to celebrate still being in the EU and help us launch the LibDems’ election campaign in London. This is our moment. We are the now the credible and most popular party in the capital. And we are the only party that can banish the spectre of Brexit for good!”
