A Weekend In Brighton: Our Top Tips

0

Just an hour from London, Brighton is one of the UK’s favourite seaside getaways and all year round you’ll find tourists flocking to it, from sunny weekends on the pebbled beach, to Christmas shopping around the vibrant Lanes, there’s always something to do.

It’s a weekend away we’d always recommend and no matter what your hobbies and interests there will be something exciting for you to do in Brighton.

Many will of course be heading to the Sussex coastal city over the coming year, and if that’s you then we’ve pulled together this handy guide for you to enjoy…

Things To Do

Brighton is well known for its things to do. It really is attractions galore. The number one for most visitors though is the pier. The Brighton Palace Pier is one of the most iconic piers in the UK, if not the world, and it provides tons of amusements and things to do from bingo to penny slots, fairground rides to fish and chips.

The boardwalks are always bustling and come evening time when it’s all lit up, there’s a real buzz to it.

Elsewhere, the Brighton Royal Pavilion is another must-visit, inspired by the Taj Mahal. Built in the 1800s it was once used as a Royal Palace for the Prince of Wales to escape London.

The Lanes are certainly worth exploring for the shoppers among you, while if you’re after a view like no other, then do make sure you go to the top of the BA i360 which offers unbeatable views across Brighton.

Food & Drink

Brighton has all the quality of top London destinations but the beauty of being by the sea. As you can probably expect, the seafood offering in the city is great, but if that’s not your thing you’ll find plenty of excellent pizza joints, Mexican and more.

A real favourite is Kindling, a fine dining restaurant that uses local produce and in season ingredients to offer a real fresh and beautiful plate of food. Alternatively, try the Shelter Hall, which brings you seven of Brighton’s finest food offerings all under one roof. You can pick up dishes from all around the world, and what’s more you won’t even have to leave your seat.

When it comes to enjoying a tipple then you have a lot of choice too. For those who like their craft beer, the Unbarred tap room is a great option, while some of the pubs in the city are also renowned for their local brews, such as the Hand in Hand, an old-school corner pub that brews their own beer.

Nightlife

As the sun goes down, the party really starts in Brighton. A well-known gay-friendly city, the number of LGBTQ+ bars is quite extraordinary, offering up a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere like no other. Then there’s the music.

The city is also well-regarded as a live music hotspot with the likes of The Hope & Ruin and Concorde 2 iconic, having welcomed hundreds of hugely popular bands down the years.

But no trip to the seaside is complete without a trip to the bingo, and Brighton is no exception. With gambling sites and promotions (e.g. this Will Hill promo code) more popular than ever, more and more people are travelling to the likes of Brighton to get a real taste of the action, transferring their virtual dabbing skills on the likes of 75-ball bingo to the real-life bingo halls, and it offers the perfect ending to any weekend in the city.

You’ll find plenty of bingo halls in Brighton, both big and small and every night visitors flock to them after dinner to try their luck at winning a jackpot and not only leaving Brighton having had a great time, but also being that little bit richer.
