Today it has been announced that on Thursday 25th April, ABBA Voyage will hold its first Calmer Concert at the ABBA Arena, created with consultation from A Relaxed Company. Formed by two of the UK’s leading experts in relaxed and accessible theatre, A Relaxed Company advise productions, theatres and venues on accessibility for neurodiverse and autistic audiences. Provisions will be made across the building to ensure that those with sensory processing needs can enjoy the concert whilst feeling comfortable and safe, including extra trained staff on hand, reduced Arena capacity and chill out zones around the venue. A Sensory Setlist outlining what to expect from every song during the concert and a Visual Story explaining what to expect from the venue are available for any customers who would benefit from them before attending. No adjustments will be made to the sound and lighting of the concert. Full information for all access performances at the ABBA Arena can be found here.
Katherine Usher and Chris Pike, co-founders of A Relaxed Company, said: “ABBA Voyage is a magical experience, and we are so glad that the team is holding the Calmer Concert so that everyone can experience it. We’ve been working with the whole team to ensure that the concert is ready to welcome everyone, whether you’re neurodivergent, sensory sensitive, or just looking for a calmer alternative.”
The calmer concert is an addition to the brilliant access provision the ABBA Arena offers year round. There are British Sign Language interpreted performances, companion tickets, wheelchair access and step-free entry. More info on accessibility at the ABBA Arena can be found here.
ABBA Voyage is the long-awaited concert from one of the biggest pop acts of all time featuring a setlist of ABBA’s biggest, most popular hits – each handpicked with great care by the band. Blending cutting-edge technology, spectacular lighting, and some of the most beloved songs ever written, ABBA take to the stage in a whole new way. In a stunning, purpose-built arena at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, one of the most popular groups in history appear as digital avatars in a ‘ground-breaking’ (Metro) concert that really ‘needs to be seen to be believed’ (BBC). Since opening to widespread critical acclaim in May 2022, ABBA Voyage has welcomed over one million visitors from all over the world.
Jaw-dropping, ground-breaking, phenomenal are just a few quotes from fans describing ABBA Voyage, the first live show of its kind. 40 years in the making, Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid have created the kind of concert they always wanted, performing for their fans at their very best: as digital versions of themselves backed by today’s finest musicians. Blurring the lines between the physical and digital, the magic of ABBA is brought to life using the latest technology.
ABBA Voyage is now booking until November 2024 at the ABBA Arena, London. For information and best availability of tickets go to www.abbavoyage.com
