Autism Advocate Anna Kennedy OBE and her team delivered their petition ‘Who will look after our children when we are no longer around?’ to No 10 Downing Street.

This is the question that is a worry for many parents and carers.

Anna Kennedy shares :

‘Thank you for your thousands of signatures and your much needed support.

Thank you to my AKO Charity team Tally Nothey, Lisa Robins , Kellie Barker ,Terry Scott , Steven Smith and my husband Sean for supporting me to deliver this important petition .

Whilst we were at No 10, we were shocked to hear that an announcement had been made that they would not retain the Minister dedicated to Disabilities….mercifully later in the day, a U turn on this decision.
We were also invited to Portcullis to meet with Sir Robert Buckland Chair of the All Parliamentary Group on Autism. Sir Robert also has a daughter on the autism spectrum. I have met with Paul throughout the early years. He also supports the Autism Alliance Campaign and worries about his daughter’s future.

My motto is :

‘If you don’t try, you’ll never know. If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never get it, and if you never ask , the answer will always be no’

This was my speech and content of the letter delivered with the petition. ‘
