St George, a proud member of the Berkeley Group, has announced that Grand Union, a new canalside neighbourhood comprising 3,350 homes in Alperton, is welcoming Anytime Fitness.
Anytime Fitness is a global fitness brand with over 5,000 franchised clubs in 38 countries worldwide and 185 locations across the UK and Ireland.
The 7,500 sq ft gym is scheduled to open its doors this summer to residents of Grand Union and the surrounding area, offering 24/7 access to training services, personalised coaching and high-specification cardio and weights equipment.
Members will have access to a range of exercise classes in the newly designed studio, as well as areas dedicated to different styles of training such as cardio, functional, free weights and resistance. They will also benefit from exclusive member rewards and can use any Anytime Fitness gyms across the world.
Anytime Fitness at Grand Union will be operated by franchisees Jaymini Patel and Nimesh Patel, who also operate an outlet in King’s Cross, London.
Jaymini Patel, franchisee, commented: “My business partner, Nimesh Patel and I are extremely excited to be working with St George to establish our first Anytime Fitness gym in North West London. We both live near Alperton and know the area well so thought it was the perfect opportunity to establish a new fitness hub in the heart of a growing community.
“We both have a financial background but have always wanted to invest in the fitness industry. Our first foray was becoming the operators of Anytime Fitness in King’s Cross which was already an established gym and this time around we’re very excited to be working on this space with St George from the very beginning.”
Set to become an all-encompassing canalside neighbourhood, Grand Union will also be home to restaurants, a supermarket, coffee shops, medical centre, canalside piazza, a nursery, community hub, co-working space and social activities including a bowling alley and screening room.
Stephen Kirwan, Regional Managing Director, St George West London, commented: “Having welcomed our first residents to Grand Union in Alperton, we are pleased to announce Anytime Fitness has joined the Co-op Food as one of our first occupiers. We’re really excited about establishing our leisure, hospitality and retail offering at this new canalside community and creating a place where people not only love to live, but also enjoy visiting; whether that be to exercise, eat, socialise or just take a stroll along the Grand Union Canal.”
The new neighbourhood is also opening up previously inaccessible parts of the Grand Union Canal and River Brent to the local community, creating improved routes around Grand Union and to nearby Stonebridge Park Station. Across the development there will also be 300 electric vehicle charging points and 5,390 cycle storage spaces available.
Prices for the one-bedroom apartments in Waterview House currently start from £440,000.
