Appeal to trace vehicle that collided with e-scooter rider in Lambeth

Detectives investigating a vehicle collision in Lambeth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 04:33hrs on Tuesday, 31 December to reports of a car in collision with an e-scooter on Croxted Road at the junction with Norwood Road, SE24.

Officers and London’s Air Ambulance attended. The rider of the scooter, a 19-year-old man, was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

Detective Constable Croucher of the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage of this incident, or who witnessed the collision personally.

“The dark coloured Vauxhall Zafira that struck the pedestrian on the scooter was equipped with a roof box and will have suffered damage on the front passenger side as a result of the collision.

“Did you see the vehicle before, during or after the collision? Are you the driver of the vehicle? Do you know who the driver is? If you can help please do the right thing and get in touch.”
