Omari Hutchinson gets caught out by freestyler Eman Kassam in the new advert for mobile network VOXI.
The Arsenal youngster is one of several fresh-faced stars in the fun, new ‘Feed Your Curious’ advert for VOXI, the mobile network with unlimited social media.
In the advert, Got To Dance winner Chris Donnelly and blonde, buzzcut model Shea Barnes embark on an exploration or journey through social media, feeding their curious spirit with every swipe, click and tap.
It opens on the two, with Shea drinking a VOXI juice carton before seeing a panna (street football) competition in the distance.
It is here that Omari Hutchinson – who proudly states that “he’s never been done at panna” – is nutmegged by female freestyler Eman Kassem as a bunch of teens nearby watch. As the ball goes through the Arsenal player’s legs, the crowd erupts into a frenzy.
The ad then sees Shea visit a bubble tea shop that she first saw on social media and, soon becomes a huge fan dressed head to toe in its merch.
Moments later she is joined again by Chris and two other friends locking arms with a bubble tea in hand. One drops onto her shoes, sparking someone watching on social to create a clog inspired by the unfortunate spill.
The advert ends on them all around the new clog in the summer sun. The spot was shot by director Louis Bhose; who has directed music videos for Loyle Carner, Lewis Capaldi, Maisie Peters and, Arlo Parks.
He said; “This campaign is all about curiosity. About seeing something on socials, and being interested, and engaged, and wanting to know more. The sense of spotting a new restaurant on Insta, and taking a trip. Or seeing a new TikTok challenge, and giving it a go. Or even just seeing something really fun and wanting to tell your mates about it! As an Arsenal fan, I loved having Omari on set and he was such a good sport getting nutmegged when no one has ever done that to him. Our whole cast was great.”
On set, Chris was seen giving Omari and over cast members dance lessons and filming TikTok moves; “he might have won in 2011, but he’s still got it” said Bhose.
