Crayola, a leader in colourful creative expression, is thrilled to announce the opening of the Crayola World of Creativity, a free, immersive family experience celebrating the joy of colour, imagination and creative freedom. Designed to help families create more creative moments together, the experience brings Crayola’s belief in everyday creativity to life through hands-on play, exploration, and imagination.

Taking place at the Oxo Gallery on London’s South Bank (Barge House St, South Bank, London, SE1 9PH) the event runs from Saturday 2nd to Monday 4th May between 11am – 4pm.

More than 91% of British parents understand the life-long benefits of creativity for kids, yet 51% say it’s hard to come up with new creative activities for their child. Crayola World of Creativity has been created to address this challenge heads-on, removing pressure and barriers while empowering families to create more creative moments together, whether at home or through shared experiences like this one.

Bringing his trademark warmth, humour, and extraordinary talent to the event, Rob Biddulph is the perfect creative companion for the Crayola World of Creativity. The bestselling author and illustrator, known for beloved picture books including Blown Away and Grrrrr! (HarperCollins Children’s Books), as well as the hugely popular Peanut Jones middle‑grade series published by Macmillan Children’s Books, and the #DrawWithRob phenomenon, will be creating a bespoke Odd Dog Out-inspired artwork especially for the event.

The illustration will be deliberately left unfinished with guests invited to colour in the final elements and add their own creative touch to a Rob Biddulph original.

On entry to the event, guests will receive their very own Crayola passport and be asked to complete various challenges as they move through the different zones. These zones include:
A photo capture opportunity at the creative moments check-in headquarters
An illustrator wall where families can flex their creative skills using a variety of Crayola products
A Colour Wonder adventure unleashing the joyful experience and of mess free creativity
An arts and crafts zone for guests to channel their limitless imagination and hone their fine motor skills
The Globbles arena where kids can fling the satisfyingly squishy, sticky throwable toys at a Crayola target with various points on offer for accuracy
The Scribble Scrubbie Petting Parlour for kids to colour and customise their own adorable pet figures before rewashing and doing it all over again

If all zones are completed, families will be in with a chance to win a Crayola bundle, a gift for a friend or savings on Crayola products.

In addition to the interactive zones, guests will experience a piece of vinyl artwork dedicated to the rich 120-year history of Crayola and an imagination wall celebrating drawings submitted by Crayola families from across the country.

Whilst open to the public from Saturday onwards, local schools have been invited to explore the Crayola World of Creativity on Thursday 30th April where they will be treated to an in-person Draw with Rob session.

Commenting on the event, Rob Biddulph said: “Creativity is one of the greatest gifts we can nurture in children. Events such as the Crayola World of Creativity are so important as they give families a space to slow down, play together, and discover just how fun it is to make something with your own hands.”

Danny Cowtan, General Manager UK&I at Crayola, comment: “We know that creativity has a profound impact on children’s development, from building confidence and problem-solving skills to strengthening the bond between children and adults in their lives. The Crayola World of Creativity is our invitation to families to come together, explore our portfolio of creative tools, and see what happens when you give imagination the space, and the materials, it needs to thrive.”

The Crayola World of Creativity is being hosted at a Coin Street venue; a social enterprise based in North Southwark and Waterloo who work to protect, build and galvanise their local neighbourhood. Together they share Crayola’s passion for inclusivity and togetherness and all profits from the event will be redirected back into the local community to help create inspirational neighbourhood – today, tomorrow, and forever.

For over 120 years, Crayola has championed the creative potential of children everywhere. The Crayola World of Creativity is the latest expression of that mission, bringing the brand to life in a bold, playful, and inspiring way that puts families at its heart.
