The Brixton Distillery Company, home of the international award-winning Market Row Botanical Rum, has appointed Gerald Vanderpuye as Advisor to the Board.

Ex-barman turned tech entrepreneur, Gerald is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Impact Brixton, a community-led co-working space in the heart of Brixton’s Marker Row arcade and home to the Brixton Distillery.

Gerald will be supporting the newly-founded micro distillery with the development of their community strategy, which will champion their commitment to giving back to the community that inspired their award-winning premium urban rum.

“I have been keeping a close eye on Market Row Botanical Rum and what they are doing to support the wider community,” says Gerald Vanderpuye. “Without a doubt, they are an impressive team committed to sourcing local ingredients and hiring local talent. When the offer arose to be a part of this story, it was a no brainer – I am looking forward to advising their Board.”

The Brixton Distillery Company’s community strategy will guide the teams’ passion for working in the best interests of the local community; either through the development of local partnerships, leveraging local suppliers or supporting local social enterprises.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled; Gerald is an absolute inspiration and he’s going to play a key role in helping us to build for the future as we live out our passion for supporting the creative, talented and buzzing community here in Brixton,” said Patrick Venning, Co-Founder, The Brixton Distillery Company.”
