The NW7 Hub, a community outreach charity in Mill Hill that stepped up to support the local Covid-19 response during lockdown and beyond has received a £1000 donation from Barratt London. The housebuilder is behind the Millbrook Park development on Bittacy Hill.

The NW7 Hub was established in 2017 by a group of local residents who held a joint vision to create and new and vibrant community facility in the centre of Mill Hill. The Hub began operating from the Mill Hill Library building and now manages the local library service alongside delivering a range of activities in the Mill Hill area to develop a sense of community. Since its inception, the Hub’s combination of a café, gallery, co-working spaces, and dedication to nourish local arts and culture immediately had a positive impact on Mill Hill and the surrounding area. During lockdown and into the ‘new normal’, the Hub focused on tackling the issue of isolation and loneliness in the local area, alongside running a local food and essential goods bank.

Barratt London’s Community Fund sees the housebuilder donate £1,000 per month to a local charity or organisation working to improve the quality of life for those living in the local area. The donation will provide support to the Hub to remain viable throughout the winter months through maintaining essential supplies, keeping the foodbank sanitized, and extending outreach to surrounding organisations to ensure that the NW7 Hub service is accessible to all those who need it.

Ed McCoy, Sales Director for Barratt West London, comments: “Already providing important services to the local community, the NW7 Hub has recently gone above and beyond to support Mill Hill residents throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Its wonderful to see a community adapt and offer a helping hand to one another through such challenging times, and we are delighted to be able to support the hub as it continues to serve the people of Mill Hill.”

Paul Edwards, Trustee at NW7 Hub, adds: “We would like to thank Barratt London for its generous donation to our community Hub, which will support us to maintain our Covid-19 support and outreach services throughout the winter months. Its great to see housebuilders such as Barratt London give back to the communities where they are building houses, through providing homes for local people and backing grassroots projects within the local area.”
