Coming to London’s Courtyard Theatre for the very first time on Thursday 14 October, Whiplash is new monthly night of music presented by BBC Introducing Radio 1 DJ Gemma Bradley.

This brand new club night for age 14+ will feature the very best new and upcoming artists performing their music live on stage. The launch night features a stellar line up of Olivia Dean, Cathy Jain and WORRYWORRY.

Commenting on the event Gemma said: ‘I am so excited to be launching Whiplash next month. It’s really important to me to be able to showcase some of the most exciting talent coming up on the scene – we have such a selection of great artists. Plus who doesn’t love live music?’

Olivia Dean – East London singer songwriter Olivia Dean was named as Amazon Music 2021 Breakthrough Artist. An emotional and confessional song writer, rising star Olivia, found a new way to bring live music to people during the pandemic, by turning a brightly-coloured yellow van into a stage on wheels – she drove around the country for her ‘From Me To You’ tour, performing soulful songs to socially-distanced outdoor audiences.

Cathy Jain – Still just 17 years of age, new YALA! Records signing Cathy Jain already possesses the voice and song craft of an artist on the cusp of a global breakthrough. It’s all there in her first single for the label, ‘cool kid’ – a hazy, sun-kissed daydream of R&B-tinged alt-pop that showcases her unique sound while echoing the modernist pop of Billie Eilish, the production flair of Frank Ocean’s more soothing moments, and Lana Del Rey’s nostalgia for the recent past.

WORRYWORRY – Boundary defying solo artist WORRYWORRY represents the future of stadium-filling, soulful balladeers, whilst embracing cues from the underground R&B scene – and his music is both enticingly familiar yet refreshingly authentic.

Don’t miss your chance to be see some of the best up and coming talent live on stage!
