Be part of West Middlesex Hospital’s future: final call to transform local healthcare

Local residents are being invited to leave a lasting mark on the future of healthcare at West Middlesex University Hospital as CW+, the official charity of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, makes a final appeal for support ahead of the opening of the hospital’s new Diagnostic, Treatment and Education Centre (DTEC).

The CW+ Hospital Next Door campaign is raising £1.5m to enhance the state-of-the-art Centre, which is due to open in early 2027 and will transform cancer, kidney and diagnostic care for thousands of patients across west London.

As fundraising enters its final phase, supporters are being encouraged to take one of the last opportunities to be recognised on the building’s Founders’ Wall. Donors who give £250 or more to the campaign can choose to have their name, or the name of someone they wish to honour, displayed within the new Centre. Those who give less than £250 can add their name to the virtual wall on the CW+ website, with every contribution helping to enhance the experience of future patients, visitors and staff.

While the NHS is funding construction of the building, CW+ is raising funds to help the Centre reach its full potential through enhancements including specialist equipment, welcoming patient environments, staff wellbeing facilities and therapeutic design features inspired by nature.

Sally Smith, Chief Operating Officer of West London Chambers and a former patient, has a long-standing connection with West Middlesex University Hospital. She said: ‘West Mid has played an important part in my life. Two of my children were born there, and the hospital also saved my life, so I know first-hand just how important it is to local people.

‘It’s wonderful to see this new Centre taking shape – I know it will make a real difference to patients for years to come. Supporting the CW+ Hospital Next Door campaign is a chance for residents and businesses to give something back and play a part in the future of their local hospital.’

Chloe Roberts, Public Fundraising Manager at CW+, said: ‘We’re now entering the final stretch of our fundraising campaign ahead of the Centre opening next year, and it’s one of the last opportunities for local people to secure a place on the Founders’ Wall and become part of the building’s story.

‘Every donation, whatever the amount, will help us create the best possible environment for the thousands of people who will use this new Centre in the years ahead. We’d love residents, businesses and community groups to join us in helping the DTEC reach its full potential.’

The new Centre will bring a range of services together under one roof, helping more patients access care closer to home, in a modern, purpose-built environment.
