An operations controller from North London had the surprise of a lifetime after winning a top-of-the-range Renaultsport Clio V6 worth almost £50,000 thanks to leading online competitions company BOTB – just weeks after his 40th birthday.

Here’s the moment BOTB presenter Christian Williams turned up at Kelvin Helegbe’s front door to tell him that he was the firm’s weekly Midweek Car Competition winner.

He said it was a ‘dream come true’.

“It’s like a belated birthday present,” he laughed. “I’ve just celebrated the big 40 at the beginning of March. I can’t believe this.”

Kelvin, who paid just £1.45 for his ticket to enter the weekly competition, said he’d been playing BOTB for more than a year to try and win the wheels.

“If it’s meant to be, it will be, that is my motto,” he laughed. “And it’s happened. My dream has become reality!”

Kelvin, who works at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, added: “You don’t see many cars like this on the road.

“It’s such a cool and individual car which is why I played for it. I’ve just always wanted one of these cars and now I have one. It’s unbelievable!”

The Clio boasts a V6 engine with 300 torque and 255bhp.

BOTB hands over the keys to two stunning cars each week as well as a lifestyle prize. Other recent winners have bagged £20,000 in cash, a quad bike and holidays of a lifetime.

The company, listed on the stock market, was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has given away more than £47m worth of cars so far.

BOTB’s Christian said: “Kelvin has finally won his dream car after playing for the same car for more than a year and I was so happy to be the one to give him the good news!”
