Having honed his skills over the past two decades as an in-demand beatmaker amongst the Belgian and French modern funk and hip hop scenes, today John Parm shares his new single ‘Feel The Groove’ which premiered exclusively on Red Bull Elektropedia.
The Brussels based producer follows up his self-titled debut EP released on Heartbeat Records, and a collaborative 7″ on the Canadian imprint Outrun Records.
‘Feel The Groove’ blends broken beat influences with John Parm’s signature modern-funk sound. On the remix, Antwerp based trio KRANKk flip the track with a dark UKG twist.
Influenced by his background as a break-dancer, John Parm’s productions are tinged with Westcoast hip hop, house and funk. Starting out under the name Turtle Master as part of Belgian label and collective Crab Boogie, John Parm went on to make beats for the young French speaking rap scene, producing for the likes of Caballero, Jeanjass and Lomepal. Now John Parm is focusing on the timelessness of funk and its presence in the current music landscape.
