Boots has launched an initiative to help women identify menopause products and services that may be suitable for them. In collaboration with GenM – the menopause partner for brands –

Boots is introducing a ‘Menopause Friendly’ symbol that will be displayed online and in-store alongside products and services that may help with some of the signs and symptoms of the menopause.

Over 35 products on boots.com will receive this symbol at launch, with more to be added in the coming days to reach almost 100. Boots and GenM are inviting other retailers to use this symbol too. Products include:

– The No7 Menopause Skincare and Boots skin:edit collections

– Targeted over-the-counter products and pharmacy medicines such as Boots Vaginal Moisturiser Gel and locally acting HRT Gina

– Supplements like Boots Red Clover Isoflavones Tablets and Boots Good Gut Live Friendly Bacteria + Women’s Health Support

Last night, Boots and No7 presented Menopause Monologues, where six celebrity women talked candidly about their experience of the menopause. Gabby Logan, Anna Richardson and Andrea McLean were joined by comedians Sally Phillips and Shaparak Khorsandi and podcast host Karen Arthur. They each performed a monologue revealing their personal experience, the signs or symptoms that affected them most and their thoughts on what can be done to improve the experience of menopause for all women.

Sally Phillips comedian and presenter, said,

“I went through my old journals and found some of the entries about what I only later realised were menopause symptoms – depression and feeling that if I couldn’t have a puppy I might die for example.

“The more open we can be about this the better so people don’t think this stuff is permanent. It’s a perfectly natural stage of life, there’s plenty of help available and your body acclimatises and apparently you become fantastically wise (tbc). That which does not kill us makes us stronger and all that. So really looking forward to honest chats and a lot of laughs at the event.”

The show, which will be released on the Boots YouTube channel, aims to open conversations about the menopause and highlight the variety of signs and symptoms associated with all its stages.

Boots has products, services and advice to help women take control of over 40 signs and symptoms of the menopause, available at its award-winning menopause hub on boots.com. Customers can also walk into any Boots store to speak with a Boots pharmacist for support, with no appointment needed, and many stores have consultation rooms available for privacy.
