The London Dungeon has set up a unique Witch’s Mark Service for peasants to prove their passion for the attraction and for witchcraft with very real and very permanent tattoos.
The service has been launched to celebrate the arrival of the new permanent show Curse of the Witch. For one day only on April 2 the ‘orrible traitors who apply and are chosen will have the chance to get inked by the renowned artist Sketch with designs he has created himself.
Opening for applicants today, as well as getting a free tattoo that will enter them into London Dungeon’s witch coven in this life and the next, the tattoos will grant free entry to the attraction for life too.
The London Dungeon released a first look at the designs on offer that draw inspiration from the deep lore of witchcraft as well as elements from the famous Southbank attraction itself – taking ‘branding’ to a whole new level.
Speaking about the Witch’s Mark service, Sketch said: “One of my favourite parts of my job is being able to bring to life weird and wonderful ideas into unique tattoos. The tattoos have been created by me and draw on the rich lore of Witchcraft and its symbols while intertwining London Dungeon motifs and themes.
“Those who are picked can choose from three designs. The London Dungeon’s logo, ‘The Witch’s Hand’ or for the bravest among us the larger ‘The Witch’s Stare’. ‘The Witch’s Hand’ includes symbols from witchcraft, words from the new show as well as the logo, while ‘The Witch’s Stare’ has the crypt and statues that overlook the entrance of the London Dungeon.”
A London Dungeon spokesperson added: “We created the Witch’s Mark Service based on the historical facts of witchcraft and witch hunts centuries ago. Those suspected of conspiring with the devil and doing his bidding were inspected for suspicious marks and once found put on trial. The Witch’s Mark Service gives this trend a 21st century twist and is a reminder of some of the darkest history in London.”

All designs are bespoke creations from Sketch and will be tattooed by the artist inside the attraction.
On the 401st anniversary of her execution the new show tells the story of Elizabeth Sawyer, a Londoner hanged for witchcraft under King James I in 1621 at the infamous Tyburn Tree near Marble Arch, where thousands of suspected witches were hanged over the years.
The show begins with Elizabeth’s imprisonment at Newgate Prison as she awaits execution. Guests brave, or foolish, enough to pay a visit will find themselves in the darkest cells of Newgate Prison and locked up alongside those accused of witchcraft to await their execution.
The new London Dungeon show The Curse of The Witch opens to the public on April 2 and is included in the standard ticket price.
