Lymphoma Action’s Bridges of Britain Returns

0

Calling all walkers, Lymphoma Action’s flagship event Bridges of Britain is back and this year there are more ways than ever to take part and really make a difference to the lives of people affected by lymphoma, the UK’s fifth most common cancer!

Lymphoma Action is the only charity in the UK dedicated to lymphoma, a form of blood cancer and they are inviting you and your family and friends to take part to raise funds to support their work. Taking part is simple – join the Lymphoma Action team in London on Sunday the 22nd May and walk across 10 iconic London Bridges, or walk your own local 7-mile route any time throughout May, crossing at least one bridge in your area.

Those attending the London event will start at Vauxhall Bridge and crisscross the Thames to finish at the iconic Tower Bridge. All participants, whether walking their own route on a local leisurely stroll, or joining the collective jaunt around the Capital, will receive a medal and a certificate after the event. Adults will also be given a fabulous purple t-shirt to walk in – so they will be easy to spot on their travels!
This is the third Bridges of Britain event, and the first with a group walk in two years. “We are delighted to announce the return of our flagship Bridges of Britain event” says Sarah Thorn, Community and Partnerships Manager at Lymphoma Action.

“The walk is great fun and open to everyone to enjoy at their own pace with friends and family” Sarah continues. “Last year was amazing with people crossing their local bridges around the country, from Hull to Devon. We have raised an incredible £82,000 since the launch of this event in 2019 and are looking forward to another fantastic walk. In the UK someone receives a diagnosis of lymphoma every 27 minutes. Please join in our walk and make a real difference.”
