Brixton’s first zero-waste store Weigh and Pay to open this weekend at Brixton Village

Weigh and Pay, opening on Saturday 12th December, will bring eco-friendly shopping to Brixton Village. As the area’s first zero-waste store, it will offer an easy, affordable and, most importantly, accessible way to shop sustainably and reduce environmental impact, for everyone from first-timers to old hands.

Their goal is to offer a simple, convenient way for everyone to access low-waste shopping, even if it’s only for one household item. Weigh and Pay isn’t about living ‘the perfect green life’ but allowing customers to make small, sustainable changes that will have a big impact on the environment and a little impact on their wallets. Through refilling containers, buying only what you need and paying by weight, shopping at Weigh and Pay creates less packaging waste, less food waste and encourages a more eco-conscious attitude.

Weigh and Pay will offer quality, organic-focused, plant-based wholefoods in bulk, alongside household goods (including cleaning products) and cosmetics, as well as sustainable and reusable items, all without plastic wrapping, packaging or a hefty price tag. They will work with local, independent businesses such as Elsa’s Organic, a small natural deodorant maker, and Suneeta London, the popular Brixton natural skincare company who specialise in Golden Turmeric and other handmade vegan products.
