Bunsik, the UK’s No.1 Korean street food brand behind the viral Korean corndog craze, will open its latest London site in Brixton this May, marking its first location in South London.

Opening at 490 Brixton Road, SW9 (formerly Holland & Barrett), the site represents a significant step for the brand as it expands south of the river, bringing its high-impact Korean street food concept to a new part of the capital.

Bunsik Brixton will officially open on Friday 15 May, marking its Grand Opening with a corndog giveaway for the first 100 customers from 11am on a first come, first served basis, alongside 50% off corndogs all day — with queues expected. The corndog giveaway will repeat on Saturday 16 May, giving those who miss out a second chance to get their hands on a freebie.

The celebrations will then continue into the following week, with a series of 50% off offers between 16–20 May across selected menu items. Early customers can take advantage of:

50% off tteokbokki on Saturday 16 May, 50% off fried chicken on Sunday 17 and Monday 18 May and 50% off cupbap on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 May.

Since launching in London in 2021, Bunsik has led the UK’s Korean corndog trend, sparking a nationwide craze and amassing millions of views across TikTok and Instagram. Its signature molten cheese pulls and fast, grab-and-go format have become synonymous with the rise of Korean street food in the UK, establishing Bunsik as a recognisable name within London’s fast-casual landscape.

Brixton, long recognised as one of South London’s most vibrant and diverse areas, is a natural fit for the brand’s format, shaped by its market-led street food scene, high footfall and a culture defined by music, nightlife and global influences. The area’s strong evening economy also presents opportunities for extended and late-night trading as the site evolves.

At the centre of the offering are Bunsik’s signature Korean corndogs, made fresh to order and fully customisable, with mozzarella and chicken fillings, optional sugar sprinkling and a choice of sauces.

The menu also includes tteokbokki (chewy rice cakes in spicy gochujang sauce), kimbap, Korean fried chicken, and cup bap rice bowls. Halal meat is used across the menu, with vegetarian options also available.

Behind the brand is founder Jae Cho, whose Maguro Group team brings close to two decades of experience operating Korean-led hospitality concepts across the UK.

Jae Cho comments:
“London is where Bunsik began, and it’s still central to how we think about the brand. Expanding into South London is an important step for us, and Brixton felt like the right place to do that. It’s an area with a strong identity, a lot of energy, and a real connection between food and culture, which aligns closely with how Bunsik operates.”

The Brixton site will be operated by franchise partner CMB Hospitality, marking a further step in Bunsik’s UK franchise rollout as the first franchised London location. Bunsik Brixton forms part of a wider expansion for the brand, with a second Manchester site within The Trafford Centre also opening in late May, and further openings across the UK confirmed for 2026.
