A resident at Bushey House Beaumont Care Home has fulfilled a lifelong wish after attending Friday prayers at the Bushey Mosque for the very first time.
Alex, a resident at Bushey House Beaumont, was accompanied by Activities Lead Tina Stovey on what became a truly special and emotional visit. Dressed smartly for the occasion, Alex was warmly welcomed by members of the mosque community, where he had the opportunity to meet members of the congregation as well as the Imam.
For Alex, being able to attend Friday prayers at a mosque had been a long-held personal wish, and thanks to the kindness and support of the local Muslim community, that wish has now become a reality. Following the success of the visit, Tina will now be accompanying Alex to prayers two or three times each month, allowing him to remain connected to his faith and become part of the local mosque community.
As Friday prayers take place during lunchtime and last around half an hour, these visits can take place without disrupting activities within the home, ensuring Alex can enjoy this important part of his life while remaining fully involved in daily life at the home.
