Cake Box has created a special David Attenborough-inspired birthday cake to celebrate the legendary broadcaster’s 100th birthday, with £1 from every unit sold being donated to WWF.

The limited-edition cake has been designed as a tribute to Sir David’s extraordinary life and work, marking a century spent bringing the wonders of the natural world into British homes.

Available for a limited time, the cake celebrates one of the country’s best-loved public figures with a design inspired by Sir David’s landmark birthday and his lifelong passion for the planet.

The tribute has been created by Cake Box Kingston-upon-Thames, a south-west London store close to Richmond, the area with which Sir David is widely associated.

The cake will be available from Cake Box Kingston-upon-Thames from 8-10 May, priced at £29.99, with £1 from every unit sold donated to WWF.

Sukh Chamdal, CEO and founder of Cake Box, said: “Sir David Attenborough is part of the fabric of British life, and his long association with south-west London makes this a fitting local tribute.

“He has helped generations see the natural world differently, and this is our small way of celebrating his 100th birthday.

“We hope customers enjoy the cake and help support WWF’s work protecting wildlife and the natural world. It feels like a fitting way to mark such a special occasion – a little slice of life on Earth.”

Sir David Attenborough turns 100 on Friday 8 May 2026, with celebrations taking place across the UK to honour his career as one of the world’s most influential broadcasters and natural historians.

Cake Box is known for its fresh cream celebration cakes, including personalised birthday cakes, egg-free cakes and occasion cakes available from stores across the UK.
