Cash donation helps London disability group provide holiday club for children

A disability sports charity who deliver Community Clubs in 11 London Boroughs has received a donation to help it provide a children’s holiday club for the next school year.

Disability Sports Club received a £1,000 donation from Persimmon Homes North London. The money was donated through the regional housebuilder’s monthly Community Champions scheme. Each month, the regional business donates up to £2,000 to community groups.

Disability Sports Coach provides sport and physical activity opportunities that have a positive impact on disabled people’s lives. Since 2005, the group has coached more than 60,000 disabled people, while It’s 11 Community Clubs, based in Brent, Kensington & Chelsea, Hillingdon, Westminster, Islington, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Lambeth, Southwark, Sutton and Wandsworth, have more than 650 members.

The charity launched a campaign to raise £6,000 so that it could provide sports provision for children with disabilities during all the holiday periods in the next school year. The holiday club will be held in Elephant and Castle and a donation was also received from the Elephant & Castle Community Fund.
