Castle Square, the ultimate cultural and culinary destination hub located in Elephant and Castle, is celebrating Elefit, a dedicated day of fitness fun on Saturday 19th July from 10am – 1pm. In collaboration with beloved ex-England goalkeeper David James, the hub will be transformed into a haven of health-focused programming for one day only.
Whether you prefer a dose of Reformer with Tempo 301 or a dynamic pilates session, this year’s selection of Elefit activities has an exercise for attendees of all ages and abilities. The strongest among us are welcome to try their hand at weightlifting or powerlifting with Fort CrossFit; meanwhile the rhythmic two-steppers can join an Afrobeat dance session to get their steps in. True to Elephant and Castle’s diversity, there is an opportunity to book into beginner-friendly Qigoing Flow for a graceful routine or leisurely Latin American aerobics to get your endorphins flowing.

The iconic sports legend has said the following about the campaign: “Having had an illustrious almost 30-year career goalkeeping for some of the world’s most famous football teams, I am a keen advocate for people from all backgrounds getting involved in sports and fitness, no matter their age. Elefit is a one-of-a-kind wellbeing and fitness event that I feel very fortunate to be a part of.”
Further to David’s session, Elefit will also be championing Silverfit, an inspiring charity that promotes active lifestyles among older adults. Led by founder and celebrated fitness figure, renowned “IronGran” Eddie, Silverfit encourages happier, healthier ageing with its tailored range of age-friendly fitness programming. Encapsulating the diversity of Elephant and Castle residents, this year’s Elefit program will revolve around fitness and wellbeing with a cultured touch that Castle Square is famous for. Featuring decorative tents and picnic tables with benches to lounge and spectate from, there’s also an opportunity for attendees to move their minds with a writing workshop followed by a meal from one of Castle Square’s global culinary delights.
