From the world of TV and soap to the Olympic field, today saw a host of celebrities, including Denise Van Outen, Denise Lewis, Ryan Thomas and Lucy Mecklenburugh and their little ones attend the opening of Lidl Mudder – the ultimate one-mile race filled with obstacles, fun and plenty of mud!

Kicking off the first event in style, the celebrities attended the Lidl Mudder race at Culden Faw, Henley on Thames to watch their children embrace the challenge, from bravely conquering the monkey swings and ‘laser’ maze to taking on mini Everest.

After completing the exhilarating course, the children were joined by the stars to continue the fun in the action packed Tough Mudder village. With pedal powered smoothie bikes, to a larger than life checkout conveyor belt and mud mural, the excitement continued long after the race was over.

Reflecting on a perfect way to spend a family day out, Olympic gold medallist, Denise Lewis said:
“Nothing beats a day out with the kids, and it’s been a blast watching Kane take part in the Lidl Mudder obstacle course. We’ve had a great time exploring the Tough Mudder Village as well – it really has been a day of fun for all the family.”

As ‘Official Supermarket Partner’ of Tough Mudder this year, Lidl will be taking over the famous mini obstacle course events taking place across the country as a part of its ongoing commitment to encourage kids to get active and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

At each event, Lidl is encouraging participants to fundraise for the NSPCC via JustGiving. Lidl is raising vital funds for the NSPCC’s ‘Speak out. Stay safe.’ programme, helping to empower a generation of children with the knowledge they need to stay safe from abuse and neglect. Lidl chose the NSPCC as its long-term charity partner in 2017 and is aiming to raise an £3 million in 3 years which will enable the charity to reach one million children by visiting schools across the UK.

With the 50% Lidl Family Bundle, you have all the fun at half the price. Included in the bundle are two adult spectator tickets, two children participant tickets, and one parking pass – all at half price.
