Charity seeks home for Wycombe cats after nine months in care

Volunteers are appealing for patient cat lovers for two cats who have spent nine months in care at a Buckinghamshire animal charity.

Tibby and Tabby have spent more than 270 days with a fosterer at Cats Protection’s High Wycombe & South Buckinghamshire Branch.

The 13-year-old siblings were taken into care by the branch when their elderly owner became unwell and was concerned that they would not be able to cope with their large number of cats.

Despite living their whole lives together, these friendly easy-going cats could be homed together or each on their own.

Ian manages homing for the Cats Protection Branch. He said: “Tibby can be a little shy to start with but her fosterer has found that she becomes incredibly loving with a little patience. She is also very curious about everything going on around her, particularly the contents of any shopping bags.

“Tabby is so gentle and lives very harmoniously with her sister. When she has time to get to know you, she loves to sit on your lap, purring. She has even taken to sleeping on her fosterer’s chest at night.”

Due to their past and shyness, both cats are looking for a quiet home in a very safe area away from busy roads. They won’t be able to live with young children or playful kittens, and they would be especially suited to someone who is home much of the day to give them attention and fuss.

Ian said: “With a little patience to rebuild their trust, it will be so worth the wait. These are such loving cats. All they ask is a second chance to share the years to come.”
