Harrow is the best place in the country to live if you want your children to get a great education.
Don’t just take our word for it. Check out this report from the Education Policy Institute – a think-tank run by former Schools Minister David Laws.
Harrow is singled out as the place where you’re most likely to get a high quality school place for your child. We’re both No.1 – and the most improved area.
Christine Robson, Portfolio Holder for Children, Schools and Young People, said: “Our Council has a long-standing commitment to provide every one of our children with a fair start in life at a good local school.
“I feel so proud of our wonderful schools and teachers – and I love it when a plan comes together. Make no mistake, this is about everyone working together with a focus on education as a means of bringing prosperity and success to the next generation here in Harrow.”
The report judges schools according to how much progress their pupils make – and then looks at the number of good quality school places available to local populations.
It picks out Harrow as having the easiest access to high-performing secondary places. Some 91% of Harrow’s primary schools are rated Good or Outstanding.
