Colin Murray discusses how often he’s told he looks like Sue Perkins

Colin Murray:

“I received thousands and thousands of tweets telling me I look like Sue Perkins – and it kind of got to a worse stage when Sue Perkins was tweeting about me looking like Sue Perkins. I look like Sue Perkins, Sue Perkins doesn’t look like me. Sue Perkins is talented, famous and funny. She’s way more talented than I am, she’s way more famous than I am and richer. So I look like her…”

Colin then goes on to tell a story about a case of mistaken identity:

“I’m in Oxford Circus, I’m on a conference call and I’m on the phone and somebody went, a dear old lady went “Can I get my picture taken?”. So I’m on this call and I went “yep yep” and after the photo she walked away and she said “I love you in the GBBO” and for some reason I went “yes, thank you!”. And at that moment I walked into the opticians and got contact lenses and walked into the barbers and got my hair cut and I went to the shop and changed my clothes. That literally changed my entire style because every time GBBO came on I had like 3000 people thought they were the only people to crack that joke.”

Colin Murray shares his favourite sport moment on twitter and it’s not what you think

Alex Zane:

“I’m going to put you on the spot because you’re a sports fan. What is the greatest day for sports ever on Twitter?”

Colin Murray:

“Ok, that’s an interesting question because you said on Twitter – and you want me to honest. The best day I’ve ever had on Twitter connected to sport, albeit not a sport event, was recently and that account was… Rebekah Vardy. I was literally like this “don’t panic everybody, don’t panic, do not panic!!”. And then the WAGatha Christie started and it was genuinely like cancel all work!! It was the way she wrote it the dot, dot, dot, it’s Rebekah Vardy’s account. It was the ultimate hold my beer moment.”

Gavin and Stacey star Matthew Horne has been announced as the next celebrity guest speaker to dish the Twitter gossip at Samsung KX on Monday 25th November 2019.
