The top floor of a former Debenhams in Hounslow has been transformed into a multipurpose creative hub to promote independent businesses and support local communities. The space will allow businesses to gain their first high street retail experience in an affordable and supportive environment, create new local networks and encourage collaboration.

The Loft’s main features include The Marketplace, an open-plan collection of market stalls selling crafts made by independent makers with a centralised payment system, and The Kitchen, a new restaurant and bar featuring a rotating evening menu curated by refugees with proceeds going towards their legal fees. The Loft’s support work, including a legal advice centre for refugees and creative projects for local communities, will be financed by its commercial offerings.

The Loft is supported by the London Borough of Hounslow, the Mayor of London’s High Streets for All Challenge Fund, Treaty Shopping Centre, and The Arts Centre, Hounslow. The Loft will initially launch on Monday 13th February, with a full launch planned for late April.
