A highly-creative student from DLD College London, Yeva Novitska, has showcased phenomenal cinematography skills and secured a much-coveted shortlisting for ‘Best Film’ at the prestigious INTO Film Awards 2022.

Yeva, an A-Level student studying Film Studies, Drama and Psychology at the multi-award-winning school, stood out amongst hundreds of other entrants from across the UK with her short film ‘A Piece of Self’, to secure her place at the awards. Yeva’s professional piece was selected for its artistic and timely portrayal of a young Ukrainian woman who reconnects with her homeland through a gift given to her by her mother, allowing the audience to see the main character’s country and culture through her eyes.

The anticipated annual awards aim to showcase young filmmaking talent across the nation; with the support of the British Film Institute, it is organised by the INTO Film educational charity. Following her success, Yeva will join the other finalists at the star-studded ceremony in June, held at London’s famous Odeon Luxe Leicester Square.

DLD College London Principal, Irfan Latif commented, “We are immensely proud of Yeva for her achievement. She has showcased remarkable talent and creativity with the production of her poignant short film, and we are delighted that she has received national recognition in this highly-regarded competition. We wish her the very best of luck for the final stage!”
